The Lonesome No More Band is Dennis McCurdy, Mike Stowe, Mark Muretisch and Hank Sobah, all accomplished singers/ songwriters who somehow manage to pull it all together and share. That clash you hear on stage is not our egos. With maturity and years of performing among us, we are here for the love of the music and the fun of meeting new folks.  We come from diverse backgrounds finding a common ground and a respect for stylistic differences that allows us to support one another as we venture out from the home base of old timey, bluegrass, folksy, down home music.

If you’ve recently ridden Conneaut Lake’s stern-wheeler, the Barbara J., then you’ve heard Ridin’ the Barbara J. as she leaves her dock. This song, written by Dennis McCurdy and performed by the Lonesome No More Band, illustrates the way these guys take in the world around them and hand it back in song.

All members of the Lonesome No More Band are independent singers/songwriters. They incorporate what they observe of the world with their life memories and events around them to craft their folk-styled songs. Their music is reminiscent, touching, honest, humorous and reflective of their life experiences.

On his 50th birthday Dennis sipped bourbon whiskey out of an old bottle of Vick's Formula 44 with blues singer Big Jack Johnson. He knew then that he was ready to return to performing live. In a little over a year, with the help of his friends Michael Stowe, Mark Muretisch, and Hank Sobah, he's had Greg *Fingers* Taylor pull him aside and tell him that they need to work the Jimmie Rodgers tune, Miss the Mississippi, into their sets.  The band has opened for Phil Lee (who promises to play his version of Highway 61 in Nashville for him some day), and for the Outlaw legend Billy Joe Shaver.

All the other band members, Mike Stowe from North Carolina, Mark Muretisch from Pittsburgh and Hank Sobah from Detroit, have played a variety of styles and instruments, since their early teen years. Mike and Dennis both come from a traditional old-time country background although they spent many of their teen years immersed in the British Invasion and rock music of their time. Mike, guitar and harmony vocals, has been classically trained in voice and spent some time in musical theatre. Mark, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, comes to the band from a predominantly pop tradition and expands into contemporary Christian music. Hank was a real live Motor City rock and roller/bluesman and classically trained music major before his reformation, when he put away his keyboard and picked up a fiddle to embrace bluegrass. The Lonesome No More Band has come together blending style, instruments, and voices in this harmony-driven collection. We invite you to take some time and preview some of our selections and consider us for your venue or events.

"The of sound the Lonesome No More Band is pure Americana with pedal steel, dobro, fiddle, mandolin and lush harmony vocals, wrapped around the acoustic guitar, bass and drums." Jim Hoehn, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
